ELIGIBILTY

• All individuals entering must be at least 18 years of age at time of entry.

• Competition is open to residents of Canada only.

• ENTRY FEE:

• $30 CAD for ONE artwork entry

• $35 CAD for TWO artwork entries

• $40 for THREE artwork entries

ARTWORK SUBMISSIONS & CRITERIA

• ALL ARTWORK THIS YEAR MUST BE READY TO HANG

• 'Ready to hang'  refers to framed artworks or stretched canvases that don't need frames. The artwork should therefore have a solution to be hung either directly from the canvas or if the frame has a hanging device

• All entries must be original compositions and cannot be based on anything that has been published elsewhere. Copies of other artists’ work are NOT considered original and are not eligible. Paintings based on another person’s photograph (even if permission is granted or image is copyright-free) are NOT eligible.

• All applicants from previous years are welcomed to re-apply. Please submit NEW work only so we can keep our exhibitions fresh!

• ARTWORK AVAILABILITY: Your artwork must be available for us to sell. This means, if you are successfully juried into our show, you will need to remove the artwork from all other sales platforms, including your website and any other galleries or platforms it may appear on: from the moment of acceptance, through the jurying process, and throughout the public exhibition and sale period.

  ACCEPTABLE MEDIUMS

• All entries must be 100% hand painted or drawn and painted by the artist entering and not under the guidance of an instructor or mentor. Copies of other artists’ work are NOT considered original and are not eligible. Accepted media: Acrylic, watercolour, gouache and tempera, oil, pencil, pastel, mixed media, encaustic, and alcohol ink. Works of paper or canvas / board / panel. Sorry, no sculpture, ceramic, fibre art, digital art or photography at this time.

• ARTWORK PRICING Please ensure your artwork is priced within the range of your typical pricing structure as per your website with a $350 minimum price)

• The artist will set the price including frame if there is one and your estimated shipping costs (see shipping details below).

• We WILL NOT accept any changes once submitted. So PLEASE ensure your information is correct

  IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

  IMAGE TYPE FORMATTING Before uploading your images and to avoid automatic disqualification:

• Images should be in JPEG format, RGB and oriented correctly.

• Show only the image, NO frame, mat, border and NO background.

• No digital enhancement is allowed.

• Recommended Image Requirements:

  Dimensions: 1920 pixels or greater on the longest side (*image should be at least 1200 pixels on the longest side.)

  File size: Between 3MB-7MB

  File Format: JPG or JPEG

  Resolution: 200 -300 DPI

  Color space: sRGB

  YOUR FILE NAME:

• Each image submitted via email should be have the following file name format: FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME _TITLE_PRICE

• FOR EXAMPLE: John Smith enters a painting titled “Snowy Morning” which is priced at $1200.

• John will find his photo on his computer and change the file name to: John_Smith _ SnowyMorning_1200

HOW TO SUBMIT

• Once you’ve decided how many images you are submitted, pay for your application. An emailed confirmation of your order will be sent TO THE EMAIL YOU USED to PAY for your order. CHECK YOUR SPAM folder.

• REPLY to that email with only the number of images you have paid for. We receive hundreds of applications. We unfortunately cannot follow up with artists, so please ensure all spelling and info is correct. If you have not received an order confirmation reply within 30 minutes, check your spam folder.

• Once your application is complete (and payment confirmation email has been received):

• SIMPLY “REPLY” to our email order confirmation with ONE email containing up to 3correctly formatted images (one image per entry) of up to 3 artworks.

• Ideally within 24hrs of your application payment.

FEES & COMMISSION & PAYMENTS

• COMMISSION RATE will be Canadian Art Daily 30% and Artist 70% . Canadian Art Daily will notify artist of purchases made within 48 hrs and will, at that time provide all shipping details for client.

• Payouts by Canadian Art Daily to the ARTIST will be sent via e-transfer within 7 business days of proof of delivery to the art collector (purchaser). Don’t worry we will send you an email with all the instructions on how to invoice us.

• * Please ensure your artwork is priced accordingly to reflect shipping charges within the range of $30-$150 depending on the size and weight or your artwork.

SHIPPING

• We require that shipped artwork have TRACKING (Canada Post / snap ship is recommended - but you may use any preferred carrier ). Do factor in cost of shipping when pricing your artwork. We suggest $30-$100 for small to medium sizes.

• The ARTIST is responsible for packaging artwork professionally and providing adequate protection and / or insurance based on the value of the artwork within Canada.

• The ARTIST is responsible for arranging and paying for tracked shipping charges and any insurance coverage within Canada. Alternatively delivery to or pick up by the client may be arranged.

• Delivery or Shipping should be carried out within 7 days of notification of sale of artwork

• INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: In the case of an international purchase inquiry (for clients outside of Canada), we will communicate with them regarding any additional fees that they may need to pay depending on the size of the work etc… We will reach out to you to help navigate this scenario.

PROMOTION All artists accepted into the show will have their work featured (and tagged) on CANADIAN ART DAILY SOCIAL MEDIA with over 32,000 followers as well as their artwork being displayed FOR SALE on our new website. Our newsletter with over 2,000 subscribers. We will also be promoting, cross promoting with partners and running adds during the show.

JURYING, ACCEPTANCE & AWARDS

* Have a look at each award category for a glimpse at what we are looking for in terms of criteria.

* You are more likely to have more than one piece of artwork accepted if they are similar aesthetically and feel cohesive visually or thematically.

All works accepted into the show must not be altered from the images submitted at time of entry. All artworks MUST be for sale.

Only successful applicants will be notified.

FEEDBACK: Regrettably, due to the size of this nation-wide call to art, we will be unable to provide commentary or feedback for works that have not been successfully juried into the show. If you have not been accepted, please do not be discouraged, keep working on your craft and try again.
